From: Helping Our Women

October 2025

Greetings, Jim!

I'm writing this as summer-time temperatures continue and we prepare for a very full month of programs and events to share with all of you. We're hoping you'll join us for our Jazz Prelude to Oysterfest cocktail party on October 16th or consider sponsoring a ticket for one of the women in the HOW community who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend.

This will be our first year at Oysterfest and we look forward to introducing HOW to the many people who attend. So come on by the HOW tent (across from CC5) - we look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones at this lively community event!

I need to close on a serious note to let you know that SNAP food/nutrition benefits are already being cut due to changes in regulations at the federal level, leaving some women in our community with significantly fewer resources. We know our state is working to address these regulatory changes and additional cuts that are coming, yet in the meantime there is less food on the shelves in more homes across the Outer Cape because of these changes. As we continue to partner with pantries and meal programs to address food access, and while we provide a monthly stipend of $100 to women who qualify, we need you to consider: How will you help address the current and pending cuts to food programs and healthcare that will increase the burden of living with a chronic or serious condition on the Outer Cape? Please plan now to contribute to HOW's year-end appeal or Giving Tuesday campaign in the coming months or make your donation today

Remember, togetherwe are all the heart of HOW. -Gwynne

WOW! A Huge Thank You to Ruthie’s Boutique in Provincetown!

We are beyond grateful to receive a generous donation of $12,000 from Ruthie's Boutique to support HOW’s mission!

This incredible gift wouldn’t be possible without the amazing volunteers who give their time and energy, the generous donors who contribute items to sell, and the loyal patrons who shop with purpose at Ruthie’s.

HOW's Treasurer, Mia Cliggott-Perlt, receiving check from Ruthie's Executive Director, Colin Brown.
