Arts and Entertainment

March 14, 2025

From: Heritage Museums And Gardens

Opening for the Main Season May 10, 2025

We're very excited to give you a glimpse into what is in store for you this season. Here's a sneak peek into what we have planned:

Bountiful Bogs: The Massachusetts Cranberry Story

This exhibition marks the debut of Heritage’s newly acquired cranberry collection-the largest museum collection of cranberry history in the country! Step into the story of the cranberry, from its earliest uses by the Wampanoag people to its rise as a global powerhouse (thanks, Ocean Spray!). Explore how this humble berry has shaped Cape Cod’s history, economy, and traditions in ways you never imagined.

From Carriage to Classic: How Automobiles Transformed America

Buckle up for a journey through time! Explore the evolution of the American automobile with 27 incredible cars from Heritage’s collection, each with a story to tell.

The Willy's MB Jeep: Celebrating the End of WWII

Step back into history and salute Heritage’s newest acquisition-the 1942 Willys MB Jeep! This legendary wartime vehicle played a crucial role in winning WWII and is now on display to mark 80 years since the war’s end.

David Rogers' Big Bugs: Big Bugs is back! For the first time in a decade, Big Bugs returns to Heritage! These massive insect sculptures offer a larger-than-life look at the tiny world of bugs. Fan-favorite creatures are back, along with new pollinator sculptures making their debut. Exhibit is open May 31-September 1.

Evergreen favorites the Wampanoag Wetu, Three Sisters Garden, & Wampanoag Mush8n will be gracing the grounds, and in the galleries, Heritage Highlights will share pieces from our collection showcasing the maritime history of our region. Plus, the Old East Mill will be celebrating its 225th birthday!

Did You Have a Chance to Take the Survey (and win?)

Heritage Museums & Gardens cares deeply about making the content we share with you, our community, meaningful.

But we need your help. We want to better understand our visitors' different needs and values so we can best serve you. Museums (like ours!) strive to encourage and expand learning while also addressing the challenges facing our society, and we need to hear your thoughts.

In order to do this, we are participating in a national survey of museum-goers, sponsored by the American Alliance of Museums. This survey will provide us with data from our visitors as well as nationwide results for context, helping us be more effective in the coming months and in the communities we serve.

The survey only takes 9 minutes to complete. And as a thank you there will be an opportunity for you to win one of ten $100 Visa gift cards!

Note: Participation in this survey is completely voluntary, and you may choose to skip any question. All responses to this survey will be kept confidential. Your response will not be used for any future solicitation. Participant information can be found here. If you have any problems with the survey itself, please contact the survey administrator, Jessica Strube, at [email protected].

Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts!
