ICYMI: Michigan Dems Highlight Trump Threat to Michigan Students

Government and Politics

February 17, 2025

McMorrow, Koleszar, and Breen warned Michiganders of the devastating consequences of Trump slashing the Dept. of Education budget

LANSING -- In case you missed it, Michigan Democrats Senate Majority Whip Mallory McMorrow, State Representative Kelly Breen, and State Representative Matt Koleszar highlighted the risks that Trump poses to Michigan students across the state. With the ongoing confirmation hearings for billionaire donor Linda McMahon to lead the Department of Education and threats of funding cuts, every single student and teacher in Michigan is in danger of losing the critical resources they rely on.

Trump continues to put his billionaire buddies first while holding back Michigan families that simply want a good education for their kids. Now, Trump is sinking to a new low as he threatens rural and urban students’ access to education, support measures for disabled students, funding for teachers, and so much more with his dangerous agenda.

Thankfully, Michigan Democratic leaders like Sen. McMorrow and Reps. Koleszar and Breen are standing up against Trump’s attacks on public education and demanding better for our students. No matter what Trump throws at us, Michigan Dems will always defend Michiganders.
