From: Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo
LAS VEGAS, NV – In case you missed it, this week State Superintendent Jhone Ebert wrote Interim Clark County School District Superintendent Brenda Larsen-Mitchell to request information and demand answers on the potential budget shortfall within the school district.

In her letter, Superintendent Ebert writes, “The Nevada Department of Education has learned that the Clark County School District may be facing significant budget shortfalls and may have already taken personnel actions related to such shortfalls. In addition to the Superintendent of Public Instruction's obligations under NRS 385.175 and 3880.580, the Department is obligated under NRS 387.3039 to inspect the record books and accounts of boards of trustees.”

The letter identifies eight budget questions for district leadership and requires answers from CCSD no later than Thursday, October 3.
