In response to Donald Trump’s mass firings and funding cuts devastating millions of Americans, Idaho Democratic Party Chair Lauren Necochea released the following statement:

“Donald Trump’s reckless mass firings and funding cuts are costing hardworking Idahoans their jobs and putting lives in danger. Thousands of our friends, families, and neighbors serve our country every day as federal employees. They fight wildfires, care for our veterans, ensure Social Security checks arrive on time, and keep essential services running. Now, Trump is throwing them aside, firing Idahoans without cause, stripping families of paychecks and health care, and leaving critical roles unfilled. Fire crews are understaffed, air traffic controllers are overworked, and first responders are stretched too thin to keep our communities safe. And for what? So Republicans can give bigger tax breaks to billionaires like Elon Musk. Idaho Democrats refuse to stand by while livelihoods, public safety, and essential services are under attack. It’s a shame we can’t say the same for the Republican leaders Idahoans elected to represent them.”
