DES MOINES - Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart issued the following statement regarding Ashley’s vote to cut Medicaid and SNAP and make life even harder for Iowans:

“Ashley Hinson turned her back on her constituents this morning. As hundreds of thousands of Iowans wonder if they’ll lose their health insurance, Ashley Hinson is only focused on passing tax cuts for the rich. The Washington mega tax bill will drive up the cost of groceries and health care for regular Iowans with the biggest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance in history while still taking on $3.8 trillion in new debt to give tax breaks to the well-off and well-connected. Hinson has revealed who she truly works for; the rich and powerful, not the Iowans she’s supposed to protect.”
