From: Jersey Shore Chamber of CommerceMore than 120 Adams County community members gathered at the Adams County Arts Council’s (ACAC) Arts Education Center for a First Friday reception to celebrate ACAC’s 30-year anniversary and kick off a highly anticipated building repair and renovation project. ACAC also invited area arts organizations participating in the Annual Giving Spree to be part of the event.

We would like to thank the Nominating Committee for all their time and effort in volunteering to serve this year's very important board nomination process. The Jersey Shore Chamber of Commerce is very grateful to the these committee members for their commitment and professionalism in nominating qualified and dedicated members to our Board of Directors.
The nominated members below not only meet the requirements of consideration, as set in our bylaws, but have shown the resolve to assist the chamber in it's mission statement. The following are the Nominating Committee's recommendations for the 2024 Board of Directors:

*In addition to the nominations made by the Nominating Committee, any JSCC member in good standing may submit a written petition to the executive director nominating any member in good standing to fill a position on the board.
Each petition must be signed by at least ten (10) members in good standing and must be delivered to the executive director by Monday, October 16, 2023 at 3:00 P.M.
At the October general membership meeting (Coffee Connector) on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, the slate proposed by the nominating committee and any nominations by petition shall be presented to the membership. If there are no nominations from members in good standing, then the nominated candidates shall be deemed elected at the November General Membership Meeting (Osprey Awards, Thursday, November 16) without further action and their term will commence on January 1, 2024.
If nominations for positions are received by the members at large, then the president shall, at the October membership meeting announce the designation of two members in good standing to serve as Inspectors of Election. They shall see that the executive director distributes a ballot to each member in good standing at least 15 days before the November general membership meeting. The notice shall state that each member in good standing may vote once by appropriately marking the ballot and returning it to the chamber office at least 5 days before the November general membership meeting (November 16). The ballots shall provide the positions suggested by the nominating committee, be filled in order by the candidates receiving the most votes, unless the candidate receiving the highest number of votes for a particular vacancy receives votes from less than one-third of the members in good standing. In that event, the candidate proposed by the nominating committee who receives the next highest number of votes shall fill the vacancy. Should there be a tie for a remaining vacancy; the board of directors shall break the tie by secret ballot prior to the November general membership meeting. The Inspectors of Election shall supervise the balloting and counting of them and they shall issue a written report certifying the election results, which shall be reported to the members at the November meeting.
We hope to see everyone at this year's Golden Osprey Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune. We are honoring many dedicated, talented and deserving members of the Jersey Shore Chamber and community.
