A reminder that while JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the 50 Plus Department at 913-826-2975 for space availability.

Sept. 12 - Dance: Teen Dance - Fall Session 1 (Ages 13-17)
Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Tuesdays, 5 to 6 p.m., 7 sessions $133 per person / $146 nonresidents
Newly Announced! - Our newest teen dance class is an exhilarating and dynamic dance class designed specifically for teenagers who are passionate about rhythm, movement, and expression. This class explores tap, jazz, ballet, and musical theatre styles! The perfect exploratory dance class for those try out new things or looking to fine tune their skills. This high-energy class provides a fun and engaging environment where aspiring teen dancers can develop their dance skills, improve their technique, and explore the artistry of dance. No experience necessary. Join us today to twirl your way to dance greatness! This class concludes with a sharing for parents and guardians. Activity number 32304.
Sept. 18 registration deadline - trip takes place Sept. 27 - Day Trip: Rolling Hills Zoo and Museum (Ages 50 & Older)
Departs from Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, Merriam, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., $124 per person
Newly announced! - Join us for a trip to Salina, Kan., to walk on the wild side at the Rolling Hills Zoo. Enjoy the ease of a guided tour tram pass to explore the whole park. You'll encounter big cats, primates, mammals, birds, and reptiles. Your ticket will also gain you access to the elaborate onsite Wildlife Museum. Explore habitats across African Plains, Artic Tundra, rainforests, and more. Boxed lunch and coffee with donuts included. Moderate walking is to be expected if not using tram. Steep hills and some uneven pavement if not using tram. Activity number 32214.
Sept. 18 - Exercise: Classical Stretch (Ages 50 & Older)
Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, Mondays, 5 to 5:50 p.m., 4 sessions, $32 per person, $35 nonresidents
Classical Stretch, or Essentrics, is a dynamic, full-body workout that simultaneously combines stretching and strengthening, while engaging all 650 muscles. Perfect for all ages. Participants need to bring a yoga mat, large towel, and water. Activity number 31934.
Sept. 19 - Cards: Bridge Workshops - Defensive Signals (Ages 50 & Older)
Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., Overland Park, 4 to 6 p.m., $12 per person, $13 nonresidents

Sept. 19 - Games: Bingo - Bonus Bingo (Ages 50 & Older)
Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave, Prairie Village, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., one $5 gift card per person
Back by popular demand, join in a fun afternoon of BINGO. The cost to enter is just a $5 gift card to throw into our stash of prizes for the year. Must register to attend. No additional fee for registration. Admission covers snacks and staff time to administer the bingo program. No additional charge for bingo. Activity number 31982.
Sept. 19, 21 - Exercise: Chair Yoga (Ages 50 & Older)
Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, Tuesdays or Thursdays, times vary - see below, 4 sessions, $40 per person, $44 nonresidents
Take yoga off the mat and onto the chair in these low intensity classes, incorporating breathing with movement while retaining all the benefits of yoga. Use the chair for support if needed during standing poses. Beginners welcome. Meets 10:30 to 11:20 a.m. Tuesdays beginning Sept. 19, activity number 31891. Sept. 20 - Pickleball: Pickleball Workshops – Hitting Away (Ages 50 & Older)

Designed for beginner and intermediate players who want to take their pickleball game to the next level. Basic knowledge and understanding of pickleball required. Equipment provided, space is limited. Activity number 32103.
Sept. 21 - Early Learning: Monarch Migration (Ages 1-4 with Adult)
Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, 9101 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, 10:30 to 11 a.m., $8 per person, $9 nonresidents
Celebrate the Monarch butterfly’s amazing annual migration with song and story. Learn about metamorphosis, monarch tagging, and other butterflies. Presented by Ernie Miller Nature Center. Activity number 31986.
Sept. 21 - Lunch and Learn: Never Forget - 9/11 Memorial & Museum (Ages 50 & Older)
Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty St., Overland Park, Noon to 1:30 p.m., $29 nonresidents, $32 nonresidents
Join speaker Noah Rauch from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum as he joins us remotely from New York. Hear how the memorial and museum came to be and the elements one would see during a visit to the memorial. Presenter will be joining us via Zoom. Attendees will meet in person for the interactive presentation and lunch. Doors open at 11:50 am. Activity number 31819.
Sept. 22 - Dance: Drop in and Dance! Belly Dancing (Ages 14 & Older)
Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, 7 to9 p.m., $15 per person / $16.50 nonresidents
3rd of 13 separate Friday night classes - Each class in this Drop in and Dance series running through mid-December will focus on a different genre, including swing, tap, belly dancing, and musical theatre. In our Belly Dancing Class, you’ll learn how to isolate and control different parts of your body, while also exploring the cultural significance and history of this ancient dance form. Each class will be taught by experienced instructors who are passionate about their respective dance styles, and who will guide you through the movements step-by-step. Classes are just $15 each so whether you’re looking to improve your technique, learn a new style, or just have fun and meet new people, our drop-in dance class series has something for everyone! Sept. 23 - Make: Engineering Structures Lab (Ages 8-11)
Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., $45 per person / $50 nonresidents
EW! Learn about basic design and engineering principles in a hands-on way during this Lab. Build your own small structures individually as well as a collaborative large structure out of recycled, 3D printed and laser cut components. Activity number 31016.
