The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) is an information resource for employers/people with disabilities and family members who are interested in knowing what kinds of job accommodations are available to people with disabilities. The JAN database of reasonable accommodations is vast and the information is free for the asking. They provide information on the accommodation, if a purchase was made where the product or service was purchased, how much it cost and how well the accommodation worked. JAN is also a resource for information on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

JAN Newsletter — January 2023
Dear JAN Newsletter Subscribers:
Happy New Year 2023! The January edition of the JAN Newsletter focuses on fresh starts and improving workplace environments. In 2023, more workers will return to the workplace after working at home for years. Solutions to support workers with disabilities who have concerns about returning can benefit many workers. For example, improving indoor air quality is one way to make the workplace safer and healthier for everyone. Recent studies have even shown that good indoor air quality can reduce the spread of viruses like COVID.

WID Monthly Newsletter: January 2023
We hope your 2023 is off to a great start! Here's "what's up" with WID in January!
Celebrating 40 Years of WID
2023 marks 40 years since WID was founded! Judy Heumann, Joan Leon and Ed Roberts founded WID as a research center and as a resource for information such as training, public education and technical assistance for disabled people. We are honored to continue to be a nonprofit that has been continually led by disabled people, advocating for serving the disability community for 40 years!
Join us this year on our media channels as we acknowledge advancements made within society for people with disabilities and what we collectively have achieved with our funders, supporters, advocates, WID past leaders, staff, allies, and partners.
ABLE Age Adjustment Act Passes
The US Congress has passed the ABLE Age Adjustment Act, which increases the age of disability onset to qualify for an ABLE savings account and increases the account savings limit to an annual contribution of $17,000. The savings increase begins in 2023. The increase of the disability onset age to 46 will begin in 2026. WID is proud to have worked on this bill that was introduced by Senator Bob Casey!

Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Ed Roberts
WID was happy to celebrate the life and legacy of our co-founder and former president Ed Roberts on Ed Roberts Day last week! Our co-founder Judy Heumann reflected on Ed’s legacy and WID’s future in a special letter!
