Trump’s Tariffs Would Cost Arizonans $5,200 Per Year And Be The Largest Tax Hike In Five Decades

On April 7th, Karrin Taylor Robson finally broke her silence and followed Andy Biggs in supporting Trump’s largest tax hike on Americans in five decades by tweeting, “Keep fighting, Mr. President!”

For the past week, Andy Biggs has been the biggest cheerleader in the Arizona GOP gubernatorial primary for Trump’s tariffs. Biggs called Trump’s tariffs a “brilliant economic strategy” and said the tariffs were “already working” the same day the stock market crashed

Tariffs could cost Arizona families $5,200 per year and would be the largest tax hike in five decades, according to JPMorgan. Arizona Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Danny Seiden said that “tariffs are a bad idea” and pointed out that the cost would be passed along to consumers. One small business owner in the Valley said that her family relies on her income from her business, and she is “very nervous about what the next few weeks and months will look like.” Grocery prices have already gone up in Arizona, and as KJZZ notes, “it will get worse.”

“While Arizonans stare down higher costs on everything from fertilizer to groceries, Karrin Taylor Robson and Andy Biggs are twisting themselves in knots to show who is the biggest fan of the largest tax hike on Arizonans in five decades,” said Arizona Democratic Party Chairman Robert E. Branscomb, II. “It’s clear that whether it’s small business owners, farmers, or Arizona families, Karrin Taylor Robson and Andy Biggs will sell out Arizonans to win Trump’s endorsement.”
