From: Lanesboro Chamber of CommerceHello members, local residents and friends,
As the holiday season approaches, we can't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the festivities ahead. In this edition of our newsletter, we are thrilled to share the joy and magic that the holidays bring to our charming community of Lanesboro. However, before we take you through what to expect in the coming weeks, let's pause just a moment to take a peek back to what has happened in our community over the past few weeks.
Our Chamber's Community Engagement Team hosted the first Parkway Plaza Pumpkin Party on October 29. It was a chilly day, but we had fun with the kids and parents who attended. We found warmth around the fire and some hot apple cider warmed our insides in the most delicious way! We had some great pumpkin creations on display and members of the community came along to cast their votes for their favorite jack-o-lanterns. Keep reading below for more information on that event.
Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center was the host of the Governor's Deer Opener last Friday and Saturday, welcoming hunters from all over the state. It was an excellent opportunity to showcase our beautiful landscapes and warm Lanesboro hospitality. We hope everyone had a successful and memorable hunting experience in our picturesque surroundings. Again, find more on that below.
Now, let's gaze ahead to the upcoming events that will get us all in the holiday spirit in the most joyful of ways. Make sure to mark your calendars for these special events because you are not going to want to miss a thing. The Community Christian Cantata, "He Lived the Good Life," will be performed on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran and Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. at Sons of Norway Hall. The "Experience the Magic" Event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, and promises to be a day filled with enchanting activities and holiday cheer. The Holiday Dinner Dance will be held the following Saturday, Dec. 2, at the community center. Finally, the annual Holiday Sing Along with Dan Chouinard will be held on Friday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m. at the St. Mane Theatre! Again, more information is included on these events, later in the newsletter.
As we move closer to the holiday season, our community is filled with warmth and togetherness. We look forward to sharing more stories, events and updates with you in the upcoming weeks. Your support and engagement continue to make Lanesboro a wonderful place to call home.
As always, I hope you have a wonderful day,
Melissa

Governor visits Lanesboro for deer hunting opener at Eagle Bluff
Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center hosted this year's firearm deer hunting opener on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 and 4, which included a roundtable with area stakeholders, a deer processing demo and wild game sampling, and a pint night at Sylvan Brewing in downtown Lanesboro on Friday. This was followed by a mentor-mentee hunt that took place Saturday morning.
In a Facebook post, Eagle Bluff noted, "It was an honor to host the festivities for this awesome annual event, which celebrates our state's rich hunting heritage and the collective commitment by all involved to passing on the tradition to future generations."
Appreciation was extended to all the partners that made this weekend a success, including the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Explore Minnesota Tourism, Bluffland Whitetails Association, Minnesota Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, and Minnesota Conservation Federation.
Shown above, from left, are Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Eagle Bluff Executive Director Colleen Foehrenbacher, Back Country Hunters & Anglers Minnesota Chapter Board Chair Eli Mansfield and Minnesota DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen enjoying Pint Night at Sylvan Brewing.
