Asian American Pacific Islander
Come celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander and Native Hawaiian (AAPI) History month with a local event or learning about local history!
On May 31 starting at 8:30 a.m., the UC Berkeley Library invites you to an online celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The Asian American community is a highly diverse group of peoples with an array of multicultural and multilingual backgrounds and extremely rich and nuanced histories. This celebration is devoted to honoring our diversity. Presenters will speak about current social and political issues faced by Asian Americans in the United States. See more!
On average, Americans who identify as women use 12 personal care products a day, exposing themselves to 168 chemical ingredients. In comparison, men use six products a day, exposing them to 85 chemical ingredients. Although most of these chemicals are not toxic, some of them have been associated with health issues and environmental degradation. This potentially makes women more susceptible to health issues because they are exposed to more chemicals. Learn more!
