ALPLM activities in Governor’s Tent also include giveaways, photo-ops

SPRINGFIELD - The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is celebrating this year's Illinois State Fair theme, "Innovation in Illinois," by showcasing its cutting-edge "Lincoln Unlocked" app, an exciting new way for visitors to engage with history through technology.

Fairgoers can stop by the Governor’s Tent, where ALPLM staff will be on hand to help guests download the app and demonstrate how it enhances museum visits with interactive features, such as tours on specific themes and trivia questions. Fairgoers will also learn how to utilize app features to explore Lincoln’s legacy beyond the museum.

Visitors can even use Lincoln Unlocked to reveal an invisible Lincoln artifact using augmented-reality technology.

In addition, the ALPLM booth will offer fun and family-friendly activities. Guests can snap a photo with a life-sized Abraham Lincoln cutout and pick up free giveaways like Lincoln stress balls, patriotic sunglasses and Abraham Lincoln fans. The fans are a great souvenir, and they’re also good for $2 off museum admission.

We’ll also be drawing names each day to give out a family four-pack of tickets to the museum!

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and visitors can learn more about its history and impact.
