Mad Hatter’s Sip and Stroll in Historic Downtown Plano

Arts and Entertainment

April 29, 2025

April 29, 2025 – PLANO, TEXAS –   The quote "curiouser and curiouser" originates from Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," uttered by  Alice when she's encountering increasingly strange and unusual events in Wonderland. The phrase has become a popular idiom that many find applicable to current world events. Just like Alice left her real world behind for an afternoon of frivolity, those seeking to do the same are cordially invited to join in the fun of the Mad Hatter’s Sip and Stroll in Historic Downtown Plano.

Replicating Alice’s experiences, guests will have the opportunity to interact with the Hatter himself as well as others from Wonderland. Do you play Croquet? Show off your skills in a challenge fit for the royal court. Explore the Pop-Up Market for something to make you smile like the Cheshire Cat. Guests who sport their finest headwear can enter to win prizes, so grab your favorite sports cap or a feathered fantasy fedora to join in the fun. Participants will have their choice of souvenir tea cup and a map of locations serving up sips of tasty beverages that won't change your size, but may lift your spirits including select wines and crafted beverages such as hibiscus berry smash, the bee’s knees, and of course the UN-birthday cake cocktail. A zero alcohol tasting ticket is also available to guests who prefer an adventure without imbibing.

According to the owner of Bibliobar Bookstore, Chelsea Tresp,”The world created over 100 years ago by Lewis Carroll still holds influence over our creative concepts of nonsense and wonder today.” In honor of the original works of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and its companion piece, “Alice through the Looking Glass,” trivia about the books will be available at each sample location.

Enjoy the Mad Hatter’s Sip and Stroll May 10, 2025 from 2 am-5 pm. Tickets are $25 which includes a souvenir sampling cup for over a dozen beverage samples plus opportunities to win prizes for best hat and fun challenges throughout the day. Tickets are available in advance through Eventbrite (https://bit.ly/44a9iRQ) or onsite during the event in Historic Downtown Plano.
