MADAN SARA: WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH FILM SCREENING

This award-winning documentary tells the stories of the indefatigable women who work at the margins to make Haiti’s economy run.
The women, known as Madan Sara, work tirelessly to buy, distribute, and sell food and other essentials in markets throughout the country. Despite the obstacles faced by the women working in a sector that lacks investment, infrastructure and state assistance, the Madan Sara continue to be one of the most critical parts of the Haitian economy.

We'll be highlighting African American authors, characters, and illustrations. Get inspired to make your own graphic novel! Draw, write, and create your own stories or use our prompts. Comic Club is an informal creative writing program for kids.

This program is designed for children who are being held or are learning to crawl. Featuring lively songs and rhymes that foster a love of reading.

Join us as we celebrate African American authors and illustrators. Early literacy fun with stories, movement and rhymes.
LEGO CLUB

Get inspired by our display of books on African American architects, then build your own creation to be displayed in the library.
PAJAMA STORYTIME

Enjoy a bedtime story and a hands-on science activity for young scientists. We're featuring the book Time for Bed, Old House illustrated by award winning African American artist, AG Ford
TEENS READ TO KIDS
Wednesday, March 15 @ 4:30pm for the stories
Bring the kids to enjoy stories read by Maplewood Teens. Teens arrive at 4 pm and the stories will begin at 4:30. This month we’ll spotlight books by African American authors and illustrators.
LITTLE TUMBLEZ
Tuesday, March 21 @ 10:30 am
Join us inside for soft play. This activity is great for developing and improving motor skills, confidence and coordination. Kids will have a blast climbing, crawling, bouncing and exploring. This fun demo class is presented by Lil Tumblez Party.
There is limited mat space, so we will have stories on the side while you wait for your turn.
