TEEN NEWS
IMAGINING TOMORROW TEEN BOOK CLUB
The Great Stories Club (GSC) is intended especially for underserved youth. Any teen in grades 6-12 in Maplewood or South Orange can participate.
The book club meets every other Thursday at 5 pm in the Maplewood Middle School Cafeteria
In Decmeber we're reading Across a Field of Starlight by Blue Delliquanti. Our reading schedule is:
December 7: First Half (Pages 1-176)
December 21: Second Half (Pages 177-the end)
COZY WINTER CRAFT FOR TEENS:
DIY Candles and Shadow Puppets
December 6 / 4-6 pm at Hilton Branch
We'll be making our very own soy candles, with the option of making them scented with essential oils. While the candles are cooling, we will make Indonesian-inspired paper shadow puppets.

GINGERBREAD HOUSES!
Stop by Hilton Branch between December 12 and 22 to see the entries in the annual Durand-Hedden House Gingerbread House Competition. The entries are created by everyone: little ones under age 8, youth and teens, adults, families and food professionals. Get info on entering here.

BABY LAPSIT STORYTIMES

designed for children who are being held or are learning to crawl.
TODDLER STORYTIMES

For ages 1-3 years with a participating adult.
Early literacy fun with stories, songs, movement and rhymes.
WILMA AND THE WINGERS

An interactive and inclusive storytime with live music by Wilma and friends. Lots of fun for all ages, especially designed for younger children. Come sing & dance with us!
Parents are encouraged to participate with their children!
READ TO A DOG
Monday, December 11 @ 6:30-7:30pm
For school age children & tweens
A relaxed group environment for school-age kids and tweens to read out loud to a certified therapy dog. Kids take turns reading to a furry friend … in a group setting.
Build confidence and reading skills! Bring something to read aloud, or arrive early enough to have time to pick out a book to read.
WNTR SOLSTICE LANTERN CRAFT
Wednesday, December 13 at 6:30 pm
For kids of all ages.
Create a luminous lantern with a glass jar, tissue paper, and a tea light. Celebrate the shortest day of the year with light!

BOOGIE WOOGIE BABIES

For kids under the age of 6 and their caregivers.
A fun, funky and joyful music & movement class for babies, toddlers & preschoolers, led by Ms. Tiffany! Encourages the development of motor skills. Dress in comfortable clothes. Outside, weather permitting.
