Mardi Gras Festival and Parade
Get ready for one of the most anticipated events of the year as Dunedin Mardi Gras takes over Downtown. This family-friendly annual celebration promises a day filled with food, drinks, music, and a spectacular parade featuring vibrant floats. The streets of Douglas and Main will be transformed into a pedestrian-friendly zone, creating ample space for everyone to revel in the festivities.
Why head to New Orleans when the heart of Mardi Gras beats right here in Dunedin? Join us on February 10, 2024, for a grand celebration that spans Pioneer Park, Main Street, and Broadway. Discover talented bands and solo performers on multiple stages, all contributing to the lively atmosphere. Don't miss the dazzling parade, kicking off at 7 p.m., promising not only a visual spectacle but a chance to catch a cascade of beads and revel in the traditional Mardi Gras spirit.

Festival Opens at 1:00 pm
Parade Starts at 7:00 pm
Dive into the vibrant Mardi Gras Festival starting at 1:00 pm. Enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, and a festive atmosphere. Then, at 7:00 pm, join the Mardi Gras Parade for a spectacular display of colors and excitement.
The parade is scheduled for Saturday
Line-up begins at 4:30 pm. Refer to the parade email for your assigned lineup. Your entire unit must be properly in line before 5:15pm or it will be eliminated from the parade.
Parade Route
The parade route will be from Douglas Avenue/Beltrees north to Skinner Boulevard.
All parade units are required to be safe, decorated, and have entertainment value, incorporating the Mardi Gras theme.
All units are encouraged to include amplified or live music in the parade. Each entry MUST keep pace with the unit that precedes it and must not permit gaps to occur between
units. All candy must exclude lollipops, candy with a stick, and boxed candy with sharp points or edges. All candy must be given out after the "Start" flags at Beltrees and Douglas Ave.
Combination Walkers And Vehicles:
No more than 10 adults handing out material with floats. Walkers are not allowed to jump on and off of floats. Candy must exclude lollipops, any candy with a stick, and
boxed candy with sharp points or edges. Candy must be underhand tossed or handed out.
Walkers:
Each parade entry will be allowed a maximum of 10 adults to distribute candy or promotional items.
