From: Massillon MuseumThe Massillon Museum’s History Discussion Group will meet on Tuesday, September 2, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Moderator Mandy Altimus Stahl will lead the group’s discussion of sounds of the past. Stahl, the Museum’s archivist, invites participants to bring their favorite recordings. She will have vinyl, audio cassette, and CD players on hand.
The History Discussion Group meets in the Fred F. Silk Community Room in the Museum’s lower level. The Museum is fully accessible. Attendance is free and open to everyone; new participants are always welcome. Free parking is available on adjacent streets and nearby city lots.
Doughnuts and coffee are available for a donation. The new TWiLite café will be open in the lobby before and after the discussion session.
History discussions draw some people who attend to share their memories, while others come to learn about the town’s past. Some people attend every session—the first Tuesday of every month. Others attend only when the topic particularly interests them. Some guests join the conversation; others just enjoy listening. No reservations are necessary.
The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsinStark, as well as marketing support from Visit Canton. It is grateful to the people of Massillon for their support. This event is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
MassMu is located at 121 Lincoln Way East in downtown Massillon. A visit is always free and everyone is welcome. Free parking is available on adjacent streets and in nearby city lots. For more information, call 330-833-4061 or visit massillonmuseum.org.
