Registration for the Massillon Museum’s April ceramics open studio is now being accepted. Contact Caylan Rentsch, education and outreach assistant, at 330-833-4061 x131.
The Frank Harrison Ceramics Studio invites adults who have previously studied ceramics at MassMu or another institution to participate in the ceramics open studio program on Wednesdays or Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. No instruction is available, but participants may use the studio for any amount of time during the open hours. The number of registrants is limited to allow maximum availability of the pottery wheels and studio equipment.
The monthly fee is $55 ($45 per MassMu member). New participants are welcome as space permits. The fee includes use of tools, wheels, and glazes, as well as firing. Participants may bring their own clay, approved by the studio manager, or purchase a 25-pound bag from the Museum for $25.
The Massillon Museum is grateful for operating support from the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsinStark, and the citizens of Massillon, as well as marketing support from Visit Canton. This open studio opportunity is funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
