From: Massillon MuseumThe Massillon Museum will host Lens on Nature: Photographing Stark Parks, an exhibition of nature images by local photographers, in the Museum’s Fred F. Silk Community Room Gallery. Their artwork features landscape and wildlife photographs captured in Stark Parks through the seasons.
The exhibition features 26 photographers: Lindy Anastis, Jude Anderson, Byron Elvin Berger, Ayanna Brown, Jenna Keiffer, Sonya Kumpus, Jennie Lambert, Amy Minor, Donna D. Moore, Amy O’Donell, John O’Donnell, Aleigha Schultz, John Stone, Mark D. Stotzer, Joshua Straley, Gillian Vigil, Madelyn Vigil, and Matthew R. Yoder.
An artists’ reception will be held on Saturday, September 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., concurrent with a reception for Studio M artist Greg Martin’s exhibition, Memento Mori.
When visiting the Lens on Nature exhibition, guests can also view Juxtaposed: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future; Titles and Claims: Cultivating a Championship Program; Saving Face: Salvaged Negatives of Henry Clay Fleming; and permanent collections in the second-floor galleries. A 1916 Massillon-made Russell steam engine is displayed outside the Museum.
Lens on Nature is presented in partnership with Stark Parks. The Massillon Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsinStark, and the citizens of Massillon, as well as marketing support from Visit Canton. Exhibitions are funded in part by the National Endowment of the Arts.
MassMu exhibitions can be viewed Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The TWiLite Café in the Museum lobby is open Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
