From: Massillon MuseumThe Massillon Museum will host a free public reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, for two exhibitions.
In Studio M, guests can meet artist Greg Martin and view his exhibition, Memento Mori. The mixed media exhibition will continue through September 28, 2025. A MassMusings podcast interview with Martin will be posted at 12:00 p.m. EST on Friday, September 19, on MassMu’s website and Spotify.
Martin, a Cleveland artist, creates 2D and 3D object-based artwork, often combining historic photographic processes (collodion and daguerreotype) with found objects, painting, drawing, and sculpture. He explores polarities found in the natural world, industrial history, and the digital age. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, Martin is a three-time recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award, as well as numerous additional awards and grants.
A reception in the Fred F. Silk Community Room Gallery for the Lens on Nature: Photographing Stark Parks, will recognize 26 local photographers. The exhibition will continue through October 12, 2025. A staff member from Stark Parks will be present at the reception to share park information and offer tips on how to enjoy the fall season in Stark County.
Lens on Nature: Photographing Stark Parks features landscape and wildlife photography by Lindy Anastis, Jude Anderson, Byron Elvin Berger, Ayanna Brown, Jenna Keiffer, Sonya Kumpus, Jennie Lambert, Amy Minor, Donna D. Moore, Amy O’Donell, John O’Donnell, Aleigha Schultz, John Stone, Mark D. Stotzer, Joshua Straley, Gillian Vigil, Madelyn Vigil, and Matthew R. Yoder.
Visitors can also view Juxtaposed: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future; Saving Face: Salvaged Negatives of Henry Clay Fleming; the Immel Circus and Small but Mighty: Big Personalities in Local Circus History; Innovators of Massillon; Ethiopian Expedition of 1903 (through October); and Claims and Titles: Cultivating a Championship Program. They can see the local history gallery, the fine and decorative arts gallery, the Paul Brown/Massillon Tiger Football History Timeline, and a 1916 Massillon-manufactured steam engine. The Museum shop and Sensory Room are open during regular Museum hours.

Exhibitions can be seen during regular MassMu hours, Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
