Congress is on the verge of slashing Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) - and they need to hear from you now.
These programs are lifelines for millions of older adults. In addition to providing support for many Meals on Wheels programs, Medicaid and SNAP protect the health and well-being of the seniors across the country who struggle with hunger and need supportive care.
If these programs are cut, a sizable influx of older adults will have nowhere else to turn but to our network - and we don’t have the capacity to meet that surge.
Local Meals on Wheels providers are already struggling. Waitlists are growing. Cuts to Medicaid and SNAP will send those numbers soaring, pushing some programs to the breaking point.
We need your voice - now.
Tell Congress: Reject Medicaid and SNAP cuts that will worsen hunger and hardship for older adults. Vote “NO” on reconciliation.
If this bill passes, this is what's at stake:
- Fewer meals for older adults who rely on them to survive
- Longer waitlists and service issues across the country
- More than 10 million people losing Medicaid coverage and more than 7 million people ultimately going uninsured, putting older adults and people with disabilities at risk
This is critical. The pressure on community programs will be crushing. And the damage? Nearly impossible to undo.
Use our pre-written call script or email to speak out. Urge your representative to reject these devastating cuts.
Thank you for standing up for seniors - and for the vital programs that work to keep them nourished, healthy, connected and safe.
