You had to have patience [on the waitlist].You had to wait it out and find something to eat. -- Inez, Meals on Wheels Client

James, we’d like to share the story of Inez, a woman who has shown incredible strength in the face of hardship.

Inez loved cooking for others. But after losing her leg due to a health condition, life became harder. She struggled with mobility and faced intense loneliness, especially in the winter. As a result, Inez found herself in need of assistance from her local Meals on Wheels provider.

Unfortunately, due to increased demand and limited resources, Inez found herself on a waitlist, and it was tough on her health.

SUPPORT SENIORS WHO NEED IT MOST

After a year of waiting, Inez began receiving nutritious meals delivered to her door. These meals not only helped her stay healthy but also brought companionship, especially from her volunteer, who always brightens her day. Inez has even started cooking again, moving more slowly, but still finding joy in it.

Currently, one in three Meals on Wheels programs has a waitlist, with some seniors waiting up to two years. We need your help to change this.

Our ultimate goal is to eliminate all waitlists and ensure that every senior who needs Meals on Wheels receives it.

Your generous support will be crucial in ending the wait and ensuring that seniors across America receive the meals and human connections they need.

Thank you so much,
