Meals on Wheels America News - Reflecting on 2024: Milestones, Memories and Impact

Clubs and Organizations

January 9, 2025

Dear James,

As we begin 2025, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude for all who helped make 2024 an incredible year. We couldn’t have done it without you.

SEE OUR YEAR IN REVIEW

Though the year brought its challenges, we worked hard as a community to ensure seniors wouldn’t be left behind, and many bright spots lined our path. As I reflect on 2024, here are some highlights of the things we accomplished with your support:

Together, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Meals on Wheels America. This exciting milestone helped us launch our End the Wait™ plan, focused on one simple goal: ensuring that every senior who needs Meals on Wheels gets it.

When hurricanes hit communities in the Southeast, your generosity provided much-needed relief to affected areas and helped to ensure that local programs were able to deliver their lifesaving services to homebound seniors while they weathered the storm. The quick action from donors and supporters like you truly made a difference during these dangerous events and are supporting ongoing recovery efforts.

One of my favorite moments was having the opportunity to speak before Congress. It is an honor to fight for seniors and ensure their voices are heard, and the letters you sent to your Members of Congress amplified our urgent message for additional funding into an impactful roar — inspiring!

Rebel, the sweet companion to Meals on Wheels client Dave, was the lucky dog who received our 13 millionth pet meal. This milestone represents all the seniors and pets that Meals on Wheels helps keep together, alleviating loneliness with unconditional love.

A LOOK BACK AT 2024

We are entering this new year with hope, fueled by the compassion and strength of our community of supporters. Thank you for being with us every step of the way. Each action you take matters: Donate. Volunteer. Advocate. Together, we can End the Wait.
