Government and Politics
February 8, 2023
From: City of MiamiDear neighbor,
The new year is already off to a great start! In the first month of 2023, my office executed numerous events benefiting the district 9 community. During these events, I was honored to have the opportunity to speak to the residents and business owners about their needs and discuss solutions.
January is a special month for me, as it celebrates the service legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and I was honored to participate in the various MLK Day Parades and events. My team held its 3rd Annual Unity Bike Ride and MLK Day of Service. Nothing brings me more joy than serving my community.
And now, in February, we celebrate Black History month, which gives us the opportunity to honor the contributions and remember the important people and events in the history of the African diaspora, specifically those in Miami-Dade County. It is my sincere hope that honoring Dr. King and celebrating Black History month inspire each one of you to serve your community and help make it a better place!
Kionne McGhee
Commissioner, Miami-Dade County District 9
