After the release of over 200 political prisoners from Nicaragua, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava issued the following statement:

“While it's extremely welcome news that 222 political prisoners have been freed from the hands of the oppressive and brutal Ortega regime in Nicaragua, and will be reunited with their families, the United States must continue to hold these dictators accountable.  

“Our country must double down on our commitment to bring renewed freedoms to Latin America so all political prisoners held captive are released.”
