Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava to meet with recently released Nicaraguan political prisoners

On Wednesday, February 15th, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will meet with recently released political prisoners from Ortega’s regime in Nicaragua, as well as offer assistance and support to them and their families.

Miami-Dade County to Pause Emergency Rental Assistance Program Applications

After serving thousands of families through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), Miami-Dade County will pause countywide ERAP applications. Any applications already submitted through the online system will be reviewed and considered for assistance. Since its launch, the Miami-Dade County Emergency Rental Assistance Program has committed $148 million in direct emergency rental assistance and helped more than 22,000 families avoid involuntary displacement, which makes the County one of the most successful federally funded emergency rental assistance programs in the nation.

Update on fire at Miami-Dade County waste-to-energy facility in Doral

Two days after a blaze began at Resources Recovery Facility (RRF) waste-to-energy plant in Doral, firefighters from Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue (MDFR)continue working nonstop to extinguish the fire in two of the six structures in the facility.
