Arts and Entertainment

September 30, 2023

Welcome to the 2023-2024 season of Motor City Brass Band! Season tickets and individual concert tickets are on sale now for our three-concert series at the beautiful Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn. Concerts are held Sundays at 3:00 pm.

A special price subscription-series ticket offer is only available by printing and mailing the form below. Individual concert tickets are also available using the form below, or on the MCBB website by clicking the blue button below the order form. Adult tickets are $18 each and Seniors are $15 each.

Our season-opening concert is the audience favorite "Horns & Howls" on Sunday, October 29 at 3:00 pm. Band members dress in costume and the audience is welcome to join us. In case you want to dress to match the music, our repertoire will include spooky music like Night on Bald Mountain, Toccata in D minor (Rollerball theme), and festive Halloween music celebrating Batman, James Bond, Ghostbusters, Wicked and more!

MCBB musicians are hard at work preparing the upcoming season and we look forward to entertaining you in Dearborn. Remember:

It's more than a concert ... It's A Show!

New Members

Gordon Ward and Motor City Brass Band are proud to introduce two new members of the ensemble. Brandon Thibault (above right) and Nathan Waak (above left) both joined MCBB as we kick off our 28th season. Congratulations and welcome, Brandon and Nathan!

Brandon plays the E-flat Bass (Tuba), an instrument originally intended to fill the gap between a Euphonium and the larger Bb Bass. They are commonly found in British Brass bands and some military bands. The instrument is also a good solo instrument that is more responsive and resonant than a Bb Bass.

Nathan plays Soprano Cornet, which is also somewhat unique to brass bands, providing higher-pitched, colorful ornamentation and solo work in brass band repertoire. Pitched in Eb, the soprano is a fourth higher, and slightly smaller in size, than the more common Bb cornet.

Advertise in the MCBB Season Program

Motor City Brass Band is known for spirited performances and a flair for entertainment. Our audience enjoys reading the 16-page full-color program book that we provide them at each concert in the subscription series.

These program books are made possible by advertisers, whose ads appears in each of the individualized concert programs. Program ads can promote your business or emplayer, or you can place an ad as a congratulatory note to MCBB, an individual musician or a section of MCBB.

Ads start at just $75. Use the attached form to reserve your ad now. Please note that in order to be included in the October 29th "Horns & Howls" concert program, we need your order by Monday, October 9th.

For more information, samples of past program books or other questions, email MCBB marketing chair Tom Hitchman at [email protected]
