Join members of the community for a roundtable discussion about the work of artist and educator Edward Navone. Former students, friends, and colleagues will discuss his artistic practice, educational approach, and cultural contributions. The conversation will be moderated by Connie Gibbons, guest curator of Canvas & Paper and Director Emeritus of the Mulvane Art Museum.
Sunflower Music Festival Concert Reception

Free and open to the public
Join us in a celebration of music and art! Enjoy refreshments as you explore Concerning the Musical in Art, an exhibition that considers the influence of music on Rita Blitt's artistic practice. At 7:30pm, experience a Sunflower Music Festival concert in the nearby Hurd Recital Hall.
Please note that while the reception is open to the public, seats for the concert in Hurd Recital Hall are limited.
Art Journaling Workshop
Saturday, July 12, 1–4 pm

Ages 16 and up
Make a one-of-a-kind art journal with Topeka artist Michaela Butterworth. The workshop will begin with a visit to In This Place: American Land for inspiration. Then, Michaela will show you how to use a range of materials and simple techniques to create an art journal that you can continue to expand after the workshop.
Gel Plate Printing Workshop
Tuesday, July 22, 5–7:30 pm
Garvey Fine Arts Center, room 16
Ages 12 and up
Create colorful prints with Topeka artist Michaela Butterworth. She'll guide you through the unique process of gel printing, which uses flexible printing plates to create a variety of textures and layers of vibrant colors.
Acrylic Landscape Workshop
Saturday, July 26, 1–3:30 pm
Garvey Fine Arts Center, room 16
Ages 12 and up
Paint an acrylic landscape with Topeka artist and Art Lab teacher LuAnn Lawhon. The workshop will begin with a visit to Endangered Art for inspiration. After, LuAnn will teach you landscape painting techniques like laying out a composition, representing textures, and using colors effectively.
