NCGOP to NCSBE: Delay in Written Order Jeopardizes Future Election Integrity Action

The North Carolina Republican Party is calling on the N.C. State Board of Elections to promptly issue its written order following the December 11 meeting in which the board wrongly decided to dismiss protests filed by Jefferson Griffin.

The delay in providing this order raises serious concerns about transparency and fairness in the electoral process.

"The most partisan State Board of Elections in history continues to show their gamesmanship by intentionally delaying the written order following Wednesday's meeting. We call on the NCSBE to stop hiding behind process and issue the order without delay. Refusing to do only highlights their blatant favoritism to Democrats and their lack of interest in addressing election integrity concerns," said NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons.

During its December 11 meeting, the NCSBE dismissed protests filed by Judge Griffin that highlighted legitimate concerns about irregularities in the November 5 election. The board’s failure to issue a timely written order has sparked sharp criticism from Republican leaders and voters alike, who view this inaction as yet another example of partisanship undermining fair and transparent elections.

"Their meeting did nothing to improve confidence in elections administration and only strengthened our resolve to counting every legal vote in the November 5 election," Simmons added.

By withholding the written order, the NCSBE is impeding necessary legal and procedural actions to safeguard election integrity. This delay not only raises questions about the board’s impartiality, but also hinders efforts to ensure accountability in the electoral process.

North Carolina voters deserve an unbiased and efficient elections board that operates in the best interests of all citizens, free from political motivations.
