Take and Make: Paper Plate Peacock
Starting Tuesday, June 20

Stop by the children’s desk for a take home craft kit. This month’s craft is a paper plate peacock. While supplies last.

Start your day with stories, songs and rhymes led by Newton Free Library children’s librarians.

Pokemon Club

Gather with fellow Pokemon fans to do simple crafts, watch an episode of Pikachu and Friends and of course play some Pokemon!

Join Little Beats for 30 minutes of yoga inspired movement! This event is best for ages 1-5.

Draw Along Creatures
Wednesday, June 21 at 4pm

After creating a drawing of peacocks, parrots and flamingos from simple shapes, the artist instructor will show you how to create scenes from just your imagination.

We are Here by Tami Charles - Written in lyrical free verse, We Are Here is a powerful story about Black and brown heritage and figures — such as Martin Luther King Jr., Marian Anderson, Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters.

Build a House by Rhiannon Giddens - Originally written as a song by Grammy Award-winner Rhiannon Giddens, and paired with moving illustrations, this is a story of an enslaved family forced to build and work farmland, sustained by their music.

All Different Now by Angela Johnson - More than two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, a young girl living in slave quarters in Texas wakes up and heads toward the fields in the early morning, unaware of how her life will soon change.
