Massillon’s Community Candlelight Walk on Sunday, December 7, 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., will be a self-guided stroll through downtown Massillon among luminarias and Christmas lights to visit nine historic churches and five community attractions. Stops include live music, storytelling, free refreshments, and entertainment. Free maps will available at any venue where walkers begin their routes.

 

The free public event will culminate in a musical program and Massillon’s traditional candlelighting ceremony at St. Mary’s Church beginning at 7:45 p.m.

 

The committee is now accepting nominations for individuals or groups who have contributed significantly to the community this year. The selected honoree will light the Community Candle during the finale at St. Mary’s.  Nominations will be accepted through November 7.

Completed paper forms must be received in the Chamber office by November 7. 

The Community Candlelight Walk is supported by Aqua, Eagles 190, Farmers National Bank, Downtown Massillon Association, Massillon WestStart Chamber of Commerce, Buehler’s Fresh Foods, and BJ’s.
