Northville District Library to Discontinue Charging Fines

In case you missed it: NDL has discontinued charging overdue fines starting December 1st, for nearly the entire library collection. All previously accrued overdue fines will also be waived.

Research has shown that going fine-free eliminates barriers to library usage and encourages people to return borrowed materials they previously kept in order to avoid paying fines. This trend has been increasing in the state for several years.
