Northwestern Mutual – Minneapolis Supports KS95 for Kids Radiothon to Surpass $1 Million in Donations for Local Pediatric Care

Firm’s $30,000 match and volunteer efforts highlight commitment to local children’s health

MINNEAPOLIS — Feb. 19, 2025 — The spirit of Minnesota’s giving community was on full display at the KS95 for Kids Radiothon, which raised $1,081,697 in donations for pediatric care and research. Northwestern Mutual - Minneapolis proudly joined the effort, providing volunteers and matching donations. The heartwarming event, held at Mall of America, was aimed at raising crucial funds for Minnesota Fairview Health Pediatrics and Gillette Children's Hospital.

Northwestern Mutual – Minneapolis was honored to contribute to this milestone, with 20 dedicated volunteers, giving their time and energy on the phonelines throughout the day and a pledge to match $30,000 of donations from Wealth Management Advisor, Jeff Manderfeld DBA Continuum Capital, a Northwestern Mutual firm.

“This event is a testament to the generosity and compassion of our community,” said Manderfeld. “By volunteering and helping raise donations, we’re able to do our ‘small part’ in supporting such an impactful event. We’re thrilled to contribute to causes that directly improve the lives of children and families in our community.”

The firm’s commitment to pediatric health extends beyond the radiothon. In 2019, Northwestern Mutual - Minneapolis pledged $1 million to M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital. As of September 2024, that pledge has been completed. This commitment aims to enhance research, support patient and family programming and assist survivors of childhood cancer.

Nationally, Northwestern Mutual has dedicated over $50 million towards childhood cancer research and support since 2012. Locally, the firm’s pledge has driven impactful initiatives, including funding vital hospital programming, creating a Child-Family Life Specialist role, establishing an Emergency Assistance fund and backing notable events such as Champions of Children and WineFest, all of which benefit research and patient care.

The KS95 for Kids Radiothon has long been a cornerstone of local philanthropy, rallying businesses, volunteers, and listeners to raise vital funds for pediatric care and research. Their latest success highlight the power of collective generosity and the strength within the Minnesota community.
