PBSC partners with NOBLE and CareerSource Palm Beach County to host job fair on Lake Worth campus for all first responder employers

LAKE WORTH, FL -- Over 40 first responder employers, including police, corrections, fire rescue, EMS and 911 dispatch departments, will recruit at the Public Safety Job Fair, on Thursday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Public Safety Conference Center, room PSD 108, on Palm Beach State College’s Lake Worth campus, 4200 Congress Ave.

This free hiring event is open to the public, with priority entry for veterans and students (with military or school ID) from 9 – 10 a.m.

Attendees will be able to apply for current job openings ranging from first responder to civilian positions. Both certified and noncertified individuals and students are encouraged to attend.

Exhibiting employers span the state and include the fire rescue departments for Coral Springs, Palm Beach Gardens and St. Lucie County; sheriff’s offices for Broward, Martin and Palm Beach counties; police departments for Aventura, Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Davie, Delray Beach, Gulf Stream, Orlando, Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Springs, Port St. Lucie, Seminole, Village of North Palm Beach and West Palm Beach (including 911 dispatch); as well as Florida Highway Patrol and the police departments for Florida Atlantic University and the School District of Palm Beach County.

Now in its sixth year, the Public Safety Job Fair is co-sponsored by the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) and CareerSource Palm Beach County.

“As Palm Beach County’s leading educator of first responders, we are excited to once again host a job fair that attracts agencies from across the state,” said Germany Dixon, associate dean of Public Safety. “We’ve heard from many agencies that hiring continues to be challenging. Our goal is to help these agencies find qualified job seekers and help job seekers launch or prepare for a rewarding public safety career.”

Palm Beach State will also exhibit and have faculty and staff available to discuss the College’s degree and certificate programs in criminal justice, emergency medical services (including EMT and paramedic) and fire science as well as various advanced, cross-over and career programs, such as Public Safety Telecommunications, which trains 911 dispatchers.
