WHAT

DryHome Roofing and Siding, a Sterling, Va.-based roofing company, is accepting nominations throughout November for its 21st annual Free Roof for the Holidays program, which provides a new roof for a deserving Northern Virginia-based individual, family or nonprofit in need. The free roof will be awarded based on nominations DryHome receives from customers and the community.

WHEN

Nominations close on November 30, 2023. Winners will be announced in early December.

HOW

To nominate an individual, family, or nonprofit, go online to www.dryhome.com and click on the nomination form or email DryHome at [email protected].  Nominators should include their name and phone number as well as nominee’s name, address, phone, and reason why they are being nominated.  The DryHome team will carefully review and evaluate all applications before selecting the nominee.

WHY

DryHome Roofing and Siding has been serving Northern Virginia for more than 35 years. The “Free Roof for the Holidays” program enables the company to thank its customers and the community by helping those less fortunate have a safe roof over their heads too. Since the program’s inception, the company has donated more than 21 roofs worth more than $200,000 to people and nonprofits in the community.

WHO

Over the years, DryHome has awarded roofs to people and nonprofits across the region with a variety of needs. Last year, nonprofit Pathway Homes received a new roof for one of its houses in Fairfax that is home to adults with mental health challenges. Other past recipients included an Ashburn man struggling with cancer; a Navy veteran who founded an animal therapy nonprofit; a Stafford mother of three who lost her husband; a Vienna mother who was struggling following a difficult divorce; a Leesburg widow and mother of two young children; Cornerstones; an advocate for the homeless; Doorways for Women and Families’ Safehouse; a Loudoun school bus driver; Good Shepherd Alliance; Falls Church Cub Scout House; and Gabriel Homes.
