In response to the 60th Anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, Nevada State Democratic Party Chair Daniele Monroe-Moreno released the following statement: 

“For 60 years, Medicaid and Medicare have been a lifeline for millions of Nevadans who rely on these programs for lifesaving health care. These programs are a reflection of our values - that everyone should have access to quality, affordable health coverage in their times of need, no matter their age or their income. However, today, Donald Trump, Joe Lombardo, and Republicans threaten to eviscerate this security. Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”, that Lombardo celebrated, rips away essential care from Nevadans to give more tax handouts to billionaires. More than 100,000 alone will lose health insurance because of Trump’s tax and spending bill. On this anniversary of Medicaid and Medicare, NV Dems will not stand idly by while Trump creates a health care crisis for Nevadans. Democrats will continue to fight tooth and nail against Republicans’ heinous attacks on health care until every Nevadan has the coverage they deserve.”
