Nevada State Democratic Party Executive Director Hilary Barrett released the following statement on Joe Lombardo’s 2025 State of the State Address:

“Joe Lombardo has had more than two years to lower the costs of housing, health care, and school meals, but instead he sold Nevadans out to the billionaire slumlord that bankrolled his campaign and took thousands in campaign cash from big drug companies after vetoing legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs. While rent costs and food insecurity rise across the state, Joe Lombardo has offered no serious plan to fix these issues while directly obstructing and vetoing Democratic legislation that offered serious solutions to these serious problems. 

“This legislative session, we expect Joe Lombardo to continue putting special interests and campaign donors first at the expense of the hardworking people of Nevada – and we will be there to hold him accountable.”
