Obituary - Emily Grove Annatone

Emily Grove Annatone, age 44 of Bethany, died suddenly at home on September 18, 2025. Born in Manchester on March 6, 1981 she was the third child and daughter of Cynthia Lauren Gilbane and James Gilbane, who both preceded her in death. Emily was a 1999 graduate of West Haven High School. In 2011, she earned her Associate’s Degree and then her Degree in Nursing from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. Following her education, she worked for twelve years as a Registered Nurse for the West Haven Veterans Administration Medical Center. At the VA, she worked in surgery, telemetry, the operating room, and as a Surgical Case Coordinator, where she received written and verbal thanks from many veterans she cared for. Emily was creative, crafty and enjoyed nature. She will be forever remembered as a dedicated and loving mother.

Emily is survived by her beloved children, Edward Annatone of Seattle, WA, Elise Annatone, Ean Annatone and Eli Annatone, all of Bethany; also survived by her two siblings, Lisa Gilbane and her husband, Richard Smith of Los Angeles, CA, and James R. Gilbane and his wife, Meghan Scott of Akron OH. In addition, Emily is survived by her former spouse, Edward Annatone of Woodbridge and their dog Chloe.

Family and invited friends are welcome to celebrate Emily’s life on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia.
