Mark A. Thomas entered into the realm of eternal rest surrounded by his family and loved ones peacefully on April 16, 2025 to be with our heavenly Father. Mark was born 68 years ago, son of Leonard A. and Priscilla Thomas in Freeport, New York and moved to the Valley, mostly in Seymour, with his family in 1957. He graduated from Seymour High School, Class of 1975. He served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Hermitage with tours in the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf seas. After the Navy he worked briefly at Yale New Haven Hospital as a Power Plant Engineer, then pursued his love for construction working in the family business. He eventually partnered with his brother Paul to take over the family business. Mark loved sports particularly Nascar, his favorite driver was Tony Stewart, Mark’s favorite teams were the NY Yankees, Minnesota Vikings and the UConn Huskies. Mark was also a collector of model cars and trains. Mark is survived by his mother, Priscilla Thomas of Florida; sisters, Beverly (Frank) Kwiatkowski of Florida and Cheryl Martone of Seymour CT; brothers, John Thomas of Florida, Leonard A. Thomas, Jr. (Suzanne) of North Haven, CT and Paul Thomas (Gina) of Seymour, CT. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and longtime friend and companion, Stephanie Mazzabufi of Seymour, CT. The family will have a private memorial service at a future date. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will also take place at a future date.
