Oklahoma City, OK - We are so excited to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month this May. The Oklahoma Democratic Party believes that we find strength in diversity, and we are proud to celebrate the strong AANHPI/APIDA community in Oklahoma.
We aren’t just celebrating, we’re working hard to make sure voices are heard. That’s why during May, we are uplifting voices from the many prominent AAPI voices within our party. Our first spotlight powerhouse is Amy Hossain, President of OHAAPI; the Oklahoma Hawaiian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander Federation; and candidate for House District 74.
Amy is a mom, non-profit leader, and dedicated community advocate committed to bringing fresh leadership to the State House. She’s running to fight for strong public schools, healthcare access, affordable housing, and livable wages. Her message is in touch with the needs of everyday Oklahomans.
During AAPI Heritage Month, Amy Hossain reminds us that “protecting our APIDA communities is to honor our resilience, uphold our dignity, and ensure that every voice is heard and safe in the tapestry of our shared nation.” For interested folks, OHAPPI is an amazing branch of the Oklahoma Democratic Party committed to fighting for our diverse communities across the state. She continues, “join OHAAPI Dems in lifting up and standing up for our neighbors!”
Amy Hossain’s campaign is one of several happening in 2025 to not only send fresh leadership to the State Legislature, but also to show America that Oklahoma voters are fired up and ready to go for 2026.
