April 15, 2025

On Tax Day, April 15th, is a reminder that Republicans in Arizona – including Karrin Taylor Robson and Andy Biggs – are lining up to cheer on Trump’s tariff tax hike that could cost the average household $5,200 and represents the largest tax hike in nearly five decades. Arizona Democratic Party Chair Robert E. Branscomb, II released the following statement in response:

“As Arizonans file their taxes on April 15th, they should remember that Arizona Republicans, including Karrin Taylor Robson and Andy Biggs, are cheering on the largest tax increase to hit their pocketbooks in five decades. Maybe $5,200 is spare change for wealthy elitists like Karrin Taylor Robson and Andy Biggs, but for Arizonans, it’s a gut punch to their family budgets. Arizona families deserve a governor who puts them first, not someone like Karrin Taylor Robson or Andy Biggs, who are willing to drain their wallets just to win Trump’s endorsement.”

BACKGROUND:

  • Andy Biggs praised Trump’s tax hike as a “brilliant economic strategy” and said the tariffs were “already working” the same day the stock market crashed.
  • Karrin Taylor Robson applauded the largest tax hike in five decades by saying, “Keep fighting, Mr. President!”
