From: Oregon Governor Kate Brown

Today, the Oregon Commission for Women (OCFW) announced the following recipients of their annual Women of Achievement Awards 2024:

Sarah Koski, Emerging Leader Award; Solome Mekbib, Professional Achievement Award; Liani Reeves, Lifetime Achievement Award

“What a wonderful time to celebrate women leaders in Oregon.” Co-Chair Dr. Krista Parent said. “The pool of nominees were incredible this year and they made it very difficult for the selection committee. The three women being honored are the head of their class in so many ways. Please stand with the Oregon Commission for Women by honoring the 2024 recipients and women leaders all over the state.”

Since 1985, when the Women of Achievement Awards was created, the Oregon Commission for Women has recognized and honored 113 women who, through their works and practices, have significantly improved the lives of women and girls across the state.

This award demonstrates our state's appreciation for their endeavors and recognizes their accomplishments – from Enterprise and Ontario to Ashland, Bandon, and to Portland. The statutory charter of OCFW empowers the Commission to “promote the full recognition of the contributions of women.”
Prior recipients include Oregon’s first Woman governor, Barbara Roberts, Portland’s first woman Mayor, Vera Katz, Gretchen Kafoury, US Congresswoman Darlene Hooley, Senator Ginny Burdick, Mari Watanabe, and more. You can access the full list here: https://www.oregon.gov/oac/ocf...

Thank you to the Women’s Foundation of Oregon for sponsoring this celebration of women across Oregon.
