OUR GOLDEN HOURS: Immersive Art Installation at the Vincent House Museum. Opening Reception for the artists, Sunday June 29th 4-6 pm.

The Vineyard Preservation Trust invites the public to experience Our Golden Hours, a new immersive art installation at the Vincent House Museum in Edgartown, created by artists William Pettit and Candice Smith Corby. Presented as part of the Trust’s 50th anniversary celebration, this one-of-a-kind exhibit reimagines 300 years of Island domestic life—from 1672 to 1977—through sound, portraiture, objects, and light.

Pettit, a painter and professor based near Rome, and Corby, a multidisciplinary artist working in Plymouth, Massachusetts, have collaborated across continents to transform Martha’s Vineyard’s oldest house into a living meditation on memory and tradition. Pettit’s evocative portraits, inspired by 18th-century painting traditions, hang beside rotary phones, disco balls, and original soundscapes—blurring the boundaries between art, history, and home life.

From candlelit kitchens to modern keepsakes, Our Golden Hours invites families and visitors of all ages to reflect on what it means to live, work, and grow together across generations.

LOCATION: Vincent House Museum, behind the Old Whaling Church, Edgartown

HOURS: Tuesdays 10AM–4PM (during Edgartown Village Market), and Wednesdays–Saturdays, 12PM–2PM
