From: Poison Apple ProductionsAN INTERVIEW WITH OUR ACTOR OF THE WEEK: LOGAN MIMS
Introduce yourself, and tell us how old you are!
Logan Mims, 11 years old
Why do you love theatre?
I love theatre because it's a great community with lots of fun, nice, and talented. It also gives me a fun extracurricular activity as an alternative to sports. I love to sing, act, and dance, and theatre allows me to do all of those things.
How long have I been at Poison Apple?
5 years.
What has been your favorite show that you've performed in?
Seussical the Musical, Jr.
Favorite Role?
Pugsley in Addams Family young@part.
What’s something you’ve learned from participating in theatre?
I've learned that theatre allows you to be someone else onstage while feeling free to be your true self offstage because the community is accepting.
Can you tell us about a moment onstage when something didn't go as planned? How did it turn out?
In Addams Family, during one of the shows, I missed my entrance for the finale. The rest of the cast had to improvise because I wasn't there; they did a great job covering for me and everything turned out fine.
What's one piece of advice you'd like to give to someone stepping onstage for the first time?
You're not really performing for the audience, you're performing for yourself and your fellow actors. If you're having a good time, then the audience will have fun too.
Is there anyone you'd like to give a shout-out to for supporting you on your acting journey?
I'd like to thank Mary for being a good friend offstage as well as a good castmate onstage. I'd also like to thank my brother, Dylan, for helping me prepare for my auditions.
Tell us the shows you have participated in with Poison Apple!
Jungle Book Kids, Snow White & the Seven Dorks, Winnie the Pooh Jr, Peter Pan Jr, Willy Wonka Kids, Aladdin Jr., Honk Jr., Frozen Kids, 101 Dalmatians Jr., Annie Jr., Addams Family young@part, and Seussical the Musical Jr.
