AN INTERVIEW WITH OUR ACTOR OF THE WEEK: BREANNA CHRISTENSEN

Introduce yourself, and tell us how old you are!

Breanna Christensen, 17 years old

Why do you love theatre?

I love theatre because I love performing on stage! Theatre allows me to do my favorite things like singing, acting, and dancing! Being able to create a story through dance and music has always been something I love to do! I also love getting the opportunity to share those stories with other people through theatre.

How long have I been at Poison Apple?

I have been at Poison Apple for a little under a year.

What has been your favorite show that you've performed in?

I love all of the shows, but Fiddler on the Roof or Mary Poppins have to be some of my favorites.

Favorite Role?

My favorite role would either be Cha-Cha from Grease or Mary Poppins from Mary Poppins.

What’s something you’ve learned from participating in theatre?

Performing in theatre has taught me to be myself and to really try hard in things that I really care about. Theatre has also taught me to connect with others through collaboration and teamwork.

Can you tell us about a moment onstage when something didn't go as planned? How did it turn out?

One time in a show, I was getting up from sitting on the floor in a very long skirt and someone was stepping on my skirt. Needless to say, when I stood up it got pulled down while on stage! It was a weird moment but I was able to zip my skirt back up and keep dancing like nothing happened!

What's one piece of advice you'd like to give to someone stepping onstage for the first time?

I would say to really enjoy it! Some of my favorite and best memories have been the ones that I have made while doing theatre! Theatre gives you so many opportunities and connections that I would not have otherwise.

Is there anyone you'd like to give a shout-out to for supporting you on your acting journey?

I would like to shout out everyone I have met in my journey through theatre and I would like to thank everyone at Poison Apple for making me feel so welcomed in the company and in the shows!
