An interview with our actor of the week: Alan Kornfeld

Introduce yourself, and tell us how old you are!

Alan Kornfeld, 9 years old

Why do you love theatre?

I love theatre because you get to hang out with friends, sing, dance, and play a lot of games.

How long have I been at Poison Apple?

2 years! I started at 7 years old.

What has been your favorite show that you've performed in?

My favorite performance was Madagascar at Poison Apple because I got to play a really funny and evil role.

Favorite Role?

Skipper from Madagascar because I got to be the captain and command the other penguins around.

What’s something you’ve learned from participating in theatre?

To keep trying however hard it is, to handle my nerves in front of a lot of people, and how to dance.

Can you tell us about a moment onstage when something didn't go as planned? How did it turn out?

One time on stage the whole entire curtain fell down on someone and knocked over a table. It was crazy.

What's one piece of advice you'd like to give to someone stepping onstage for the first time?

I would tell them to take a deep breath and think about what emotion you're going to do on stage and what you're going to say.

Is there anyone you'd like to give a shout-out to for supporting you on your acting journey?

I want to give a shout out to my friend Ethan who has been acting with me. It is great to have a friend beside me.
