AN INTERVIEW WITH OUR ACTOR OF THE WEEK: KATERINA RODIONOV

Introduce yourself, and tell us how old you are!

Katerina Rodionov, 14 years old

Why do you love theatre?

I love theater because I get to make progress on my acting skills and get to learn from others!!

How long have I been at Poison Apple?

Around 3 years.

What has been your favorite show that you've performed in?

My favorite show that I performed in is Into the Woods.

Favorite Role?

My favorite role was Rusty in Footloose the Musical.

What’s something you’ve learned from participating in theatre?

Something I learned is that theater is something that you work on. You never stop improving and learning something new. Theater is a work of art and we are the artists.

Can you tell us about a moment onstage when something didn't go as planned? How did it turn out?

When it was our opening night for Mean Girls, me and another actor were supposed to open the curtain for the actors to go onstage. However, we totally forgot to open the curtain and then the whole thing fell off! It was such an awkward and stressful moment as everyone ran away and the audience could see all of us. We then fixed the curtain and the show went on, but I don’t think I’ll ever forget about that moment.

What's one piece of advice you'd like to give to someone stepping onstage for the first time?

Don’t stress; go with the flow! Think about everything you’ve been taught and exceed its level and if anything happens, the show must go on!

I would like to thank my friends and family for their support and the staff at PA.
