Sembrando Herencia 2022 - Cangrejos y Cafe
She came from a long-time, coffee growing family in Las Montañas. He was an Obrero from San Mateo de Cangrejos. Their friendship spanned lifetimes. In his ancestral past, she saved his life. He has returned to this lifetime to repay the debt.
Set in the 1950s, our 20th original musical was rich in oral history -- a timeless story of gentrification and displacement. Each year, our annual play combines original live music, dance, community theater, and cocobalé -- sticks & machete fighting -- to bring history to life and honor unsung heroes! Our musical featured original Jibaro, Bomba, Plena, and Taino music! Grateful thanks to Professor Lester Nurse Allende for sharing oral history of San Mateo de Cangrejos.
THANK YOU SPONSORS!
