** Virtual! Rights & Benefits for Immigrants, 4/24
The Reading Public Library and the MIRA Coaltion are pleased to offer Introduction to Immigration, a series which presents relevant, up-to-date, and accurate information on immigration topics. The next session, Rights and Benefits for Immigrants, (https://libcal.readingpl.org/event/10315839) will cover the basic rights of all individuals — regardless of immigration status. Attendees will receive a broad overview of immigrant eligibility for health and safety net programs. This training also discusses best practices for interactions with law enforcement and preparation for worst-case scenarios. Register to receive a Zoom link via email. ** Kids! Celebrate National Poetry Month 4/22
To celebrate National Poetry Month, please join RPL librarians and award-winning author and current MCBA nominee,Kyle Lukoff (http://www.kylelukoff.com/) for a poetry workshop. Whitelam Books will be selling books and Kyle Lukoff will be available to sign them at the end of the event. This program is for kids in grades 1-6.

** Laura Hatosy: Lessons from the Holocaust, 4/25
Join the Reading Public Library for an evening to recognize Holocaust Remembrance Day (https://www.ushmm.org/remember/days-of-remembrance) with a discussion led by Laura Hatosy. Ninety-Nine percent of Danish Jews survived the Holocaust despite Nazi occupation. Hatosy will give a historical overview of various psychological, cultural, and historical reasons for how and why the Danes were able to protect people in their community. Her discussion will explore the historical context in Denmark and how we can apply these principles to our lives today. Registration is not required. (https://libcal.readingpl.org/event/10472700)
